IBM 2014 Scientific Prize for MAP-i student

Alexandre Madeira has won the IBM Portugal 2014 Scientific Prize with a work based on his MAP-i PhD Thesis (finished on July 2013), under the supervision of Luís Soares Barbosa (UMinho) and Manuel António Martins (UAveiro).

IBM Portugal has created in 1990 the IBM Scientific Prize for young Portuguese researchers in Computer Science. The prize is worth 15000€ and is highly regarded in the research community.

The 2014 edition of the prize has been awarded to Alexandre Madeira, a MAP-i student, for the first time. Alexandre has finished his PhD thesis "Foundations and Techniques for Software Reconfigurability" in July 2013, under the supervision of Luís Soares Barbosa (Uminho) and Manuel António Martins (UAveiro).
