MAP-fis is a PhD research program in Physics, run by three major Public Portuguese Universities: Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto. 

In the MAP-fis PhD programme you will find an active environment, provided by three major Portuguese Universities and 6 top class Research Centers,  to learn how to do world class research. About 280 PhD professors or researchers work in the Physics Departments and  Research Centers associated with MAP-fis,  and have at their disposal impressive and state-of-the-art computing and laboratory infrastructures. They cover a wide range of areas of expertise: Gravitation, Cosmology, High Energy Physics, Condensed Matter, Materials, Nanotechnology, Optics, Lasers and Photonics, Atomic and Molecular Physics,  Meteorology and  Oceanography.

MAP-fis has been recognized as an excellence Program by FCT, Portugal's Public Science Funding agency,  and has a limited number of PhD grants available.
